Esmark Industrial Group
Esmark Industrial Group, LLC, a subsidiary of Esmark, Inc., was formed in 2009 to identify and acquire companies engaged in the manufacturing of precision machining and fabrication equipment. These companies typically manufacture and supply parts, sub-assemblies and materials handling equipment to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) for products used in the transportation, steel, materials handling, heavy construction and power generation industries.
In December 2009, Esmark Industrial Group announced that it completed the acquisition of assets of Meadville, Pennsylvania-based Excalibur Machine Company for $3.5 million in cash. Excalibur Machine is a precision machining and fabrication concern that builds and supplies parts, sub-assemblies and materials handling equipment to OEMs such as GE Locomotive, Riley Power, JLG and Siemens Power Generation.
The acquisition of Excalibur Machine Company will provide Esmark and its subsidiaries with modern equipment and machine shop facilities and an expanded customer base to complement its growing Steel Group operations.
David A. Luptak, has been named CEO of Esmark Industrial Group with responsibility for Excalibur Machine Company. The company will be headquartered in Pittsburgh.
