Grammy Award-winner Peter Frampton drew a crowd on Sunday at Stage AE in Pittsburgh for a benefit concert that raised thousands of dollars for charity and honored Sewickley philanthropist Jim Bouchard.

Jim Bouchard, CEO of Esmark Inc., has donated generously to Sewickley-area organizations for many years. Bouchard’s company wanted to honor his efforts through a charity event that would be fun for families. Esmark is a steel and oil production company.

“Our preliminary number for the total amount raised is at approximately $200,000 at this point, and is expected to increase,” event coordinator Jessica Craig said.

“We had an estimated 1,000 guests in attendance last Sunday for the concert, as well as the pre- and post-concert events at the Edgeworth Club.”

Money raised during Sunday’s event will benefit three local organizations, including the Quaker Valley Recreation Association, the City of Champions for Haiti Relief Effort and the Imani Christian Academy.

“The pre-event consisted of cocktails, and a wide range of food and entertainment throughout the Edgeworth Club,” Craig said.

Entertainment included a silent auction, a band and games, she said.

Fifteen charter buses transported guests to and from the concert and “drinks were passed at the Edgeworth Club later to enjoy the rest of the night,” Craig added.
