ESMARK MANAGEMENT

Roberto Alvarez is the Chief Executive Officer of Esmark Steel Group, responsible for all steel procurement and mill relations. He is also Executive Vice President of Esmark, Inc., and a member on the Board of Directors of Esmark, Inc.

A steel industry veteran with more than 40 years of diversified experience, Roberto assumed his current role in 2021. Prior to joining Esmark, Inc., in 2009, he was chief executive officer at United Steel Group, LLC, where he led new developments in steel procurement globally and introduced the concept of structural trade. Previously, for nearly 16 years, Alvarez served as executive vice president at MAN Ferrostaal, Inc., where he oversaw compliance of international trade operations, leveraging bi-lingual abilities.

He also held roles of increasing responsibilities as vice president at Couthino & Caro Co., Inc., an international trading company, was founding member and senior vice president of Gacome, Inc., and a senior product manager at Ahmsa Steel International, Inc. He began his career in the steel industry at J&J Steel Supply a Service Center in 1978.

Roberto studied business administration and finance at the College of Business at University of Texas—San Antonio.
